Art Deco Amber Gold Marble Dish with Stylized Gilt Bronze Base

Art Deco Amber Gold Marble Dish with Stylized Gilt Bronze Base
This exquisite decorative dish was realized in France at the beginning of the 20th century. It features a circular top with a gently reclined side and a flat bottom carved from amber gold marble with charcoal veins running throughout. The piece sits on a gilded bronze base resembling abstracted equine legs, rendered in a style recalling that of Italian Futurist sculpture, especially Umberto Boccioni. This gorgeous object that reads simultaneously of the period and perennially modern. While this perfectly utilitarian piece is ideal for storing valuables or any number of smaller objects, its also gorgeous objet d'art in its own right that would be stunning presented atop any table or étagère. Excellent vintage condition.
