This refined side chair was realized by the esteemed 20th century designer, Gilbert Rohde, in the United States, circa 1930. It features a curvilinear body composed of a single piece of tubular bent steel that forms the matching U-form back and base. Two cylindrical supports descend from the back wrapping underneath the demilune shaped seat. With its modernist materials and clean lines, this piece is as versatile as it is aesthetically compelling. It would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic deco to contemporary. It has been newly reupholstered in smoked brown topaz mohair and is in excellent vintage condition.
