About

This elegant and sophisticated parsons chair was handmade in the United States by the esteemed maker Maxwell Royal, circa 1960. It features a gently undulating back with stiles that taper into ears that ascend above the top rail. Additionally, it features abstracted Klismos style cylindrical legs; stylized scroll form arms; and whittled aprons that narrow at each end. With its clean lines- incorporating aspects of traditional design into a distinctively modern aesthetic- this piece would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid-Century Modern to contemporary. It has been newly reupholstered in smoked platinum velvet and is in mint restored condition.
