About
This sculptural pair of Mid-Century Modern slipper chairs were realized by the celebrated American designer and architect T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings, circa 1950. They feature a gently curved back, splayed legs and a curvilinear frame with two vertical slats. With clients including Elizabeth Arden and Doris Duke, Robsjohn-Gibbings was renowned for his paired down interpretations of classical design, which have withstood the test of time appearing as modern today as when they were created more than sixty years ago. The chairs have been newly reupholstered in platinum velvet and are in mint restored condition.
