This sleek floor lamp was designed by Robert Sonneman for George Kovacs, circa 1970. Sonneman's innovative light fixtures are studies in movement, weight, and balance. His designs are critically lauded and have been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum. This streamlined floor lamp has a rectangular black enameled aluminum shade that connects to an elegant chrome rod. The shade and rod are affixed to a rectangular black enameled steel base. A lovely example of Sonneman's 1970s Minimalist work, this lamp would look stunning in any style of interior. This fixture supports a single Edison based bulb and is in excellent condition.
