Mid-Century Modern Brass and Yellow Enamel Eight-Arm Chandelier by Paavo Tynell

7,475.00

This sophisticated Mid-Century Modern chandelier was realized in Finland, circa 1960, by the celebrated designer Paavo Tynell. It features eight conical shades, finished in a lemon hued enamel with pairs of small perforations staggered across their surfaces. The shades attach to a circular body, resembling a penumbra- also painted in a rich yellow enamel- via four undulating brass rods. At the base of the shades is coiled brass detailing- a design detail that is reiterated under the circular canopy. The body of the chandelier attaches to the body of the chandelier via four gently curved brass rods that merge into a conical embellishment in lemon enamel. It would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid-Century Modern to contemporary. It has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent condition. The height can be adjusted to suit. The chandelier accommodates eight candelabra based bulbs offering up to 540 watts of light.
