Art Deco Machine Age Hand-Painted Skyscraper Style Glass and Chrome Pendant

3,975.00

This sophisticated Machine Age Art Deco pendant was realized in the United States circa 1935. It features an opaque body with bars of ribbed lines of staggered lengths in relief descending vertically hand-painted with black chevrons at their ends. The body is separated by a chrome band from the translucent pressed glass base which features repeating circular designs as well as a starburst pattern on its bottom. The skyscraper style form of the base is reiterated in the chrome top which attaches to the ceiling via a chrome rod- with three circular embellishments adorning its center- and canopy. With its clean lines and modernist design, inspired by urban architecture, this piece embodies the qualities that discerning collectors of Machine Age Art Deco absolutely adore. It would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Deco to contemporary. It has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent condition. The height can be adjusted to suit.
