About
This elegant chandelier was realized by the esteemed atelier P. Maynadier, circa 1930, at the height of the Art Deco movement. It features a conical central shade with abstracted wave motifs and stylized floral detailing at its nadir. Six streamlined arms extend from the circular body- all in nickeled bronze- with foliate and geometric detailing throughout. The arms support channeled skyscraper style conical shades with imprinted floral motifs. It attaches to the ceiling with four bowed rods that attach to the ceiling via a skyscraper style canopy with cubist detailing. This piece represents a first-rate example of French Art Deco at its finest- sure to delight any discerning collector of the period as well as those with an eye for exceptional objects. It has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent condition. The height can be adjusted to suit. It accommodates seven candelabra based bulbs offering up to 420 watts of light. Signed "Maynadier."
