Midcentury Chaise by Harvey Probber with Mahogany and Brass Supports

Midcentury Chaise by Harvey Probber with Mahogany and Brass Supports

8,475.00

This sophisticated and chic daybed/chaise exemplifies American Mid-Century design at its best. Conceived by Harvey Probber, circa 1960, this piece exemplifies the clean and austere design for which he has become a legendary figure in Mid-Century furniture with a devout following. With its simple geometric Silhouette- L-shaped support, conical legs and perfectly asymmetrical body- this daybed/chaise showcases the inherent beauty of the materials. The hand rubbed mahogany of the frame, brass mountings, and the radiant champagne upholstery are allowed to shine. Both the base and the support have been crafted from solid mahogany and attached by a pure brass support. There is no shortage of luxury materials on display here. This is an example of Mid-Century Modernist design at its best. It has been newly upholstered and mint restored condition.
