About

This elegant and refined Art Deco desk was realized in France, circa 1935. It features a gently curved bowfront rosewood top with a skyscraper style stepped perimeter, whose inherent grain has been bookmatched to create chevron patterns throughout. The piece sits on two legs each equipped with four drawers- offering a wealth of storage possibilities. The bottom three drawers offer reeded Machine Age pulls in lustrous nickel, while the top drawers have the original lock and key also in nickel, for storing valuables. The base of the piece is nickel wrapped. With its iconically Art Deco materials and clean lines, this piece is sure to delight discerning collectors of first rate examples of the Machine Age's influence on Art Deco in France. It would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Deco to contemporary. It has been restored to mint condition.
