This beautiful hand knotted Art Deco Chinoiserie rug was realized in China, circa 1925. It reflects the Western influence of Art Deco culture on traditional eastern crafts. The piece depicts a natural scene replete with deer, cranes, and an abundance of flora and fauna. Additionally, there are abstracted and deconstructed greek key motifs and other geometric elements all set against a midnight blue background. This rug is vibrant, yet sophisticated, able to hold a room without dominating it.
