Pair of Mid Century Silver Cerused Walnut End Tables/Nightstand by James Mont

Pair of Mid Century Silver Cerused Walnut End Tables/Nightstand by James Mont
About
This elegant and stylish pair of nightstands were realized by esteemed Art Deco designer- whose clientele included everyone from Frank Costello and Lucky Luciano to Irving Berlin and Bob Hope- in the United States, circa 1950. They feature a tiered base with straight rectangular legs and a geometric body full of right angles. These geometries create a dynamic juxtaposition to the sculptural pulls with sinuous curves that suggest stylized lotus leaves. The walnut cabinets have been silver cerused- a finish that showcases the inherent beauty of the woodgrain. The inside of the nightstands/ end tables are equipped with a shelf offering myriad storage possibilities. With its classically inspired, modernist sensibility, these pieces are as versatile as they are stunning, representing a winning addition to any style of decor from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. Mint restored condition.
