About

This sophisticated and stunning pair of side or end tables were realized in the United States by the esteemed Mid Century Designer Bertha Schaefer, circa 1960. They embody the Mid-Century Modern aesthetic- full of sinuous curves and dynamic forms- that discerning collectors of this period in American design cherish. Composed of two tiers- the top created in ebonized walnut, the bottom in travertine both with bowed sides and rounded corners- it features wave form bands in front and back connected by rectangular lateral supports that flair at each end. The top tier is supported by U-form supports suggesting a parabola curve. They stand on rectangular tapered legs. With their clean modernist lines and timelessly appealing form, these chairs are as versatile as they are striking. They would be a perfect addition to any style of interior from classic Mid-Century Modern to contemporary. Mint restored condition.
