Mid-Century Tete A Tete w/ Ebonized Walnut Cabriole Legs & Holly Hunt Fabric

$5,975.00

This unique and lovely Mid-Century Modernist Tete A Tete With Saber Style Cabriole Legs in Ebonized Walnut and Holy Hunt Upholstery originates from France, Circa 1950. The french term "Tete A Tete" directly translates to English as "head to head" and means to have an intimate discussion between two individuals. This is where furniture pieces of this type derive their name, as they accommodate seating for two, often facing away from one another or laterally separated with a physical barrier while maintaining close positioning ideal for private or reserved conversation. This piece features a lovely upholstered body with Ebonized Walnut framework and supports. The saber style cabriole legs are beautifully sculpted and proportioned with elegant swooping forms and a matte finish that contrasts excellently with the silver reflective fabric. The upholstery is by Holly Hunt, a lovely pattern depicting geometric leaves in two tones of reflective silver hues. A narrow strip of ebonized walnut runs along the back and underneath the seats, lining the upholstery and beautifully delineating the two opposing seats, where users will sit back to back. This unique piece will serve beautifully in an entryway or even for use in a personal or commercial art space, styling well with a wide array of design movements from Mid-Century Modernist to Contemporary or Minimal Interiors. In Mint Restored Condition.
