Mid-Century Modern Organic Handpainted Ceramic Table Lamp by Georges Pelletier

3,475.00

This refined table lamp was realized by the esteemed Belgian-born ceramicist Georges Pelletier, circa 1960, who spent most of his career producing beautiful handcrafted and painted ceramic pieces from his studio in Cannes, France. The lamp features a sinuously curved form that tapers at its neck and base crafted and hand painted in a sophisticated sand hue replete with an abundance of horizontal striations. The piece is perforated with circular forms throughout. Some of these incised forms are filled with circular discs, while others are left open. There is a bulb housed within the body of the piece as well. When lit up, the light refracts beautifully through these openings, casting illuminated forms across the surfaces of the room. With its organic Mid-Century Modern aesthetic, this piece promises to add a touch of casual elegance to any interior. It has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent condition. It comes fitted with a custom shade. The lamp accommodates two Edison based bulbs providing up to 200 watts of light. Excellent condition.
