About

This rare and important citron green table lamp was produced by Daum- one of the most illustrious glass makers of the period- in Nancy, France circa 1925. Daum was awarded a Grand Prix during the 1900 Universal Exhibition for their exquisite glass pieces. This piece was acid etched by the celebrated craftsman Jacques Gruber, who is credited with elevating Daum's level of craftsmanship to an unprecedented level of excellence. This piece is a testament to his influence and Daum's superior glass making techniques (which made them a close rival of Gallé during the period). It features three tiers of acid etched squares- in descending sizes- circumscribing the base below channeled striations ascending the neck. The domed top features the geometric patterns found on the base repeated. It is held up by hand wrought sinuous bronze arms with hand-hammered round supports all in a rich and lovely patina. This is truly masterpiece of Art Deco glass by one of the era's most renowned producers. It is also a gorgeous object/work of art that would be a winning addition to any style of decor from classic Deco to contemporary. It has been newly rewired to American standard and is in excellent condition. It is also signed "Daum France."
