About

This striking mirrored vanity, realized circa 1940 by the esteemed American producer Grosfeld House exudes old world Hollywood elegance, adding a touch of glamour and sophistication to any interior. Its mirrored body is supported by four legs that culminate in plume forms- a design element that became popularized based on a brooch that the Duke of Windsor gifted to the Duchess, shortly after their marriage. The cabriolet style legs bifurcate from a central point splitting into dramatically curved feet with clawfoot brass sabots. The two sides are connected with a reeded cross bar that tapers on each side and offers a ringed ornamentation at its center. The cabinet boasts a spacious drawer on each side, as well as one in the center, with circular baroque style brass pulls. This is a beautiful piece from the period, perfect for collectors or for someone looking for an elegant piece to add a touch of glamour to any interior. While it would obviously make a wonderful vanity, it would be great as a writing desk as well. Mint restored condition.
