Hollywood Regency/Art Deco Reverse Etched, Beveled & Scalloped Venetian Mirror

5,475.00

This elegant Hollywood Regency/Art Deco Mirror features a mosaic of twelve rectangular panels and one arched top panel fastened together with glass floral rivets inside of a scalloped, beveled, and smoked mirror frame with reverse etched Baroque details. In the billowing scalloped form at the top stands the Lion of St. Mark- depicted in Venice's coat of Arms- holding a tablet that reads 'Pax Tibi Marce Evangelista Meus,' which in latin translates to: "Peace be unto you, Mark my Evangelist." This is Venice's motto, which here offers an oblique nod to the place of origin for this style of mirror. This timeless mirror adds a decadent flourish to any interior space. It is perfect for lover's of Hollywood Regency style but works equally well with Art Deco, Mid-Century Modern and contemporary interiors. Excellent condition.
