This elegant Pair of Hollywood Regency chest of drawers were handmade by the illustrious American producer, Charak Modern, circa 1942. They feature the Fine level of craftsmanship and detail for which the furniture maker is renowned. The bodies of the chests has been finished in white lacquer with a raised silver leaf border tracing the perimeter. The original draped style nickeled pulls echo the silver tone, while providing a subtle tonal contrast. Additionally, the pieces feature tapering four sided legs and skyscraper details at the top where it adjoins to the body of the chest. These pieces serve to add a touch of old world glamour to any interior space, evoking a bygone era of sophistication and glamour. The original Charak label is affixed to the back, including the model number and year of production (1942) hand inscribed in pencil. Mint restored condition.
