Mid-Century Modernist Four Armed Glass & Brass Chandelier by Barovier & Toso
This is a stunning masterpiece of Mid-Century Modernist design, originating from one of the oldest companies on earth, the illustrious Barovier Y Tosso, made in Italy, Circa 1950. This four arm Chandelier features effortlessly sophisticated custom brass fittings joining together delicately curved fluted transparent glass rods forming the frame and supporting the upward facing shades. The shades themselves are rendered in Hand-Blown glass with filigree detailing, creating a diagonal crosswork of white lines with a remarkably high degree of precision. The shades hover beneath the curved glass framework that swoops beneath to support them from below, a unique and powerful design choice that denies gravity, lends an endless feeling of anticipation and attention to this gorgeous chandelier. The brass rod suspending the piece rises to meet an original glass canopy, also with filigree detailing and capped with a streamline brass plate. The height can be adjusted to suit, this piece is Newly rewired to American Standards. In Excellent Vintage Condition.
