Art Deco Brushed Aluminum & Frosted Glass Chandelier with Fluted Detailing
This striking Art Deco Brushed Aluminum & Frosted Glass Chandelier with Fluted Detailing originated in the United States, circa 1935. The fixture reads as a shallow, stepped saucer crafted in brushed aluminum, its outer rim formed into pronounced fluted tooling that catches and reflects light. A circular frosted glass diffuser closes the underside, recessed beneath the metal shade and retained by a ribbed, threaded central finial that reiterates the rib motif seen on the canopy and stem. The aluminum body displays gently contoured concentric rings and a satin-silver finish that contrasts with the soft, milk-glass quality of the diffuser. A straight metal stem and molded round canopy carry stepped ornamental rings that repeat the pendant's layered geometry. The design accommodates four Edison-base bulbs offering four hundred watts of light, which illuminate evenly through the frosted disc for controlled, glare-reduced light. Spun-metal construction and machined rib details reflect industrial-era production techniques and the Machine Age emphasis on form derived from fabrication. Excellent Condition, this piece has been rewired to US standards.Height can be adjusted to suit.
