Art Deco Signed Daum Frosted Rose-Hue Saucer-Form Pendant Chandelier
This elegant Art Deco Signed Daum Frosted Rose-Hue Saucer-Form Pendant Chandelier originated in France, circa 1935. The fixture presents a broad, shallow saucer silhouette in rose-hued frosted glass, with upper and lower surfaces unified by a softly diffusing central bowl that houses multiple lights. A sequence of stacked frosted glass spheres rises above the saucer to meet the metal suspension and canopy, creating a rhythmic vertical counterpoint to the horizontal profile. The saucer edge is finished with a warmer amber ring that frames the piece while fine linear banding encircles the central bowl and punctuates the underside, giving the form Art Deco graphic clarity. The central bowl serves to diffuse illumination into an even, ambient glow that complements the piece's sculptural geometry. Construction combines molded, uniformly frosted glass elements with polished metal suspension hardware. The polished metal provides a cool, reflective counterpoint to the warm ring and supports the overall balance of the composition. The glass bears a signature by Daum and the design shows the period's preference for streamlined geometry and ornamented restraint. Excellent vintage condition, this piece has been rewired to US standards and height can be adjusted to suit. Accommodates four candelabra based bulbs offering 240 watts of light.
