Signed Jules Leleu Art Deco Directoire Style Burled & Bookmatched Acacia Cabinet w/ Bronze Fittings
This elegant Art Deco directoire style cabinet was realized in France circa 1940 by the celebrated designer Jules Leleu. It features a volumetric rectangular body with an undulating curved apron, as well as faceted tapered legs sitting on bronze sabots in a sumptous chestnut hued burled and bookmatched acacia. Additionally, the piece retains its original sculptural concave bronze lock and accompanying Art Deco key. The piece opens to reveal a generously apportioned central space as well as two shelves above, offering a wealth of storage possibilities. With its beautiful craftsmanship and timeless modern lines, this piece is as versatile as it is aesthetically pleasing, blending perfectly with any style of interior from classic Deco to contemporary. It has been newly restored to mint condition. The piece retains its original plaque bearing the signature of Jules Leleu. Signed “Leleu”.
