This impressive and large scale modernist sputnik was realized in Murano, Italy- the island off the coast of Venice renowned for centuries for its superlative glass production. It features a black enamel center with a wealth of brass spokes emanating outwards that spear through a diversity of handblown glass forms, including discs, ovoids and channeled concave forms embedded with 24 kt gold flecks. This chandelier is unique, created from an abundance of handblown Murano glass forms. With its impeccable craftsmanship, dramatic sculptural silhouette, and refined color palate, this chandelier is as versatile as it is aesthetically compelling, blending perfectly with any style of interior from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. It has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent condition. The height can be adjusted to suit. It accommodates 9 candelabra bulbs offering up to 540 watts of light.
