This stunning set of four modernist sconces were realized in Murano, Italy- the island off the coast of Venice renowned for centuries for its superlative glass construction. They feature tapered conical urn form shades in opalescent white Murano glass with subtle channel detailing and abundance of white gold Murines. The bodies of the sconces are cinched at their center with brass bands that connect to rectangular backplates via volumetric rectilinear supports. The channeled spear like bases of the sconces are also created in Murano glass but offer a gold palate punctuated by a wealth of 24kt yellow gold Murines- offering a beautiful tonal contrast to the opalescent glass of the shades. With their beautiful glass quality and clean modernist lines, these sconces would be a winning addition to any style of interior from traditional to contemporary. They have been newly rewired to American standards and are in excellent vintage condition.
