Mid-Century Modernist Wrought Iron Rope Motif Magazine Stand

Mid-Century Modernist Wrought Iron Rope Motif Magazine Stand

$2,475.00

This cleverly designed Mid-Century Modernist Wrought Iron Rope Motif Magazine Stand originates from the United States, Circa 1950. Features a minimal construction in wrought iron, with a raised lip panel elevated with lovely sculptural feet. From the feet rise minimal columns topped with spheres angled slightly outwards from the center of the piece. The sides and supporting structure are achieved with sculptural wrought iron, wrapping around the existing elements and beautifully detailed to resemble rope. Reminiscent of the motifs of Jasper Johns and his sculptural practice, the conceptual contrast achieved by using an unyielding and heavy material to depict something as versatile and bending as rope is a strong choice both aesthetically and exemplifies the intentions and sensibilities of Mid-Century Modernism to full effect. This magazine stand will style beautifully in a wide array of spaces and settings, from Mid-Century Modernist to Contemporary and Minimal Interiors. In Excellent Vintage Condition.
