Modernist Chrome & Painted Cobalt Enamel Curvilinear Sculpture by William Pye

Modernist Chrome & Painted Cobalt Enamel Curvilinear Sculpture by William Pye

$6,475.00

This vibrant and beautiful sculpture was created in England Circa 1970 by British artist William Pye. The piece features three arches of Graduated Hues in Cobalt and Cerulean Blue enamel paint on a minimal geometric arched rainbow motif in bronze, vertically placed on the back left quadrant of the sculpture’s base. This is an exceptional example of Pye’s work, which is renowned for its brilliant exploration of the materiality and effects of water within and through environments and other mediums. The flat chrome base supports an undulating chrome cylinder that slopes upwards and beautifully balances the two dimensional and three dimensional elements of this sculpture, occupying and stimulating negative space. This multi-dimensional sculpture combines the intriguing interplay of light, space, and reflection with clean and elegant lines in a fluid form and stunning material execution. This edition is signed by the artist 'PYE 3/6' stamped on the base. In Excellent Vintage Condition.
