It depicts a stylized cubist rendition of a greyhound resting on its hind legs with its front legs straightened, showcasing its powerful musculature realized in cream ceramic (a signature material for Lemanceau) exhibiting a beautiful craqueleur. The greyhound serves as a visual analogy for the era's fascination with speed (a la aviation, automobiles etc.) as an emblem of progress. With its clean modernist lines and beautiful crackled glazed, this piece would be a winning addition to any side table or etagere in any style of interior from Classic Art Deco to contemporary. “l'Ecole des Arts aplliques”.
