This dynamic and beautifully formed Mid-Century Modernist Abstract Looped Ribbon Sculpture in White Marble on a Pyramidal Black Base is Initialed S.K. and originates from the United States, C. 1984. Carved from a solid vertically oriented block of marble, this sculpture features sumptuously curved forms, resting on the base with a winding element curled in on itself, then emerging upwards in a serpentine curve that loops around and crosses in front to achieve a larger oblong open loop in the upper portion of the piece. Beautifully angled and carefully balanced to create a cohesive shape and maintain visual movement throughout, this sculpture is a brilliant example of the abstracted geometry and stunning use of material characteristic of Mid-Century Modernist design. Grounded and supported by a custom black pyramidal base, the contrast of hues accentuates the presence of the sculpture and is unobtrusive while remaining a strong element of the balance and design of the sculpture overall. Styling well in a wide array of spaces and settings, from Mid-Century Modernist to Contemporary and Minimal Interiors, this sculpture will be a beautiful additional for those who appreciate fantastic quality piece from the 20th Century. Bears the carved initials "S. K." and a creation date of 1984. In Excellent Vintage Condition.
