Mid-Century Modernist Side Table in Walnut & Travertine Marble by Harvey Probber
Mid-Century Modernist Side Table in Walnut & Travertine Marble by Harvey Probber
This sophisticated and elegant side table was designed by the legendary Harvey Probber and handmade in Fall River, Massachusetts circa 1960. Probber believed that "aging gracefully" represented the "fourth dimension" of great design, and this piece definitely is a testament to that credo. Composed of austere rectilinear forms, the table offers bookmatched walnut legs with an apron in roughly equal proportion as well as a travertine marble top (exhibiting a stunning natural grain) that appears to subtly "float" over the apron. With its clean lines and timeless aesthetic, this table would be a winning addition to any style of interior from Classic Mid-Century Modern to contemporary. It is in mint retired condition.
