Marino Marini Untitled “From Color to Form” Series 1969
Marino Marini Untitled “From Color to Form” Series 1969
This stunning lithograph, was realized by the celebrated Italian artist Marino Marini in 1969. Part of the series “From Color to Form” by Marino Marini (Italian, 1901-1980), this work presents an abstracted and stylized rider apparently captured in mid fall from the back of a horse beneath a crescent moon (or sun). Rendered in energetic, and highly expressionistic brush strokes, this piece brims with vivacity and color- offering tones of violet, carnelian, lemon citrine, sky blue and emerald against an off white back ground. With its perennially modern aesthetic and ebullient palate (executed by one of the great Italian artists of the 20th Century), this piece would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century to contemporary. The work comes presented in custom gilded gallery frame. Signed Lower Right in Pencil, Inscribed Lower Left 23/50. It is Illustrated on pp. 166-167 of Marino Marini: Catalogue Raisonné of the Graphic Works (Engravings and Lithographs 1919-1980), Giorgio and Guido Guastalla, 1993. Excellent condition.
