This stunning pair of Mid-Century Modern sconces were realized in Italy, 21st Century, in the manner of Gio Ponti. They feature conical shades in frosted glass that are supported by four angular supports that taper on a bias to their apex. They attach to a cylindrical rod that connects to the rectangular wall attachment, via another cylindrical rod of a smaller circumference, all executed in solid lustrous brass. With its mixture of sharp angles and flowing curves, this pair of sconces exemplifies the highly considered aesthetic and timeless design of Italian midcentury modernism at its finest. They have been newly rewired to American standards and are in excellent condition.
